Portfield Community Primary School has about 180 on roll aged from 4 to 11. The school serves the East Ward of Chichester but draws pupils from the whole of the city and from further afield. Key Stage 2 pupils are taught in the older part of the building which has been internally restructured to provide large classrooms and attached work areas. Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage classrooms are in the new wing as is the Special Support Centre suite. The School Governors are actively involved with the Headteachers in drawing up targets and plans for improvement. They also monitor the progress the school is making.
